“The person you will be five years from will come down to two primary influences: The people you associate with & the books you read.” I just read a book "Who will cry, when you die" by Mr.Robin Sharma a famous leadership development guru. "When I was growing up, my father said something to me I will never forget, ""Son, when you born, you cried while the world rejoiced..." said by Robin Shrama. I liked this book due to many a reasons because when I was reading this book I have feeling of motivation & worthily.
Mr. Robin Sharma used very simple language. He used very nicely the thoughts by great management gurus & leaders. That creates more & more interest to read further without taking rest in between. In every phrase there is new stuff of thoughts & learning. I took two days to read this book because I was enjoying a lot sitting in library. Now,I will share a few of my great learning which motivate me a lot:
- Do only high leverage activities & priorities that will advance your life’s mission & legacy, than every thing will change.
- In this new era of economy the greatest thinker would be more successful person
- How high you will rise in your life will be determined not by how hard work but by the how
- Success in business & in life is a “connecting the dots” process
- Time slips through our hands like grain of sand & the time to live greatly is not tomorrow buttoday.
- To improve your life, you must first improve your thinking.
- Forgiveness is a great act of spirit & personal courage
- Time is priceless commodity & the best time to live a richer, wiser & more fulfilling life is now.
- Read & think every day something new no one else is thinking.
- Life change takes time, effort & patience.
Apart form motivational thing his writing guided us in a right way. One important thing he mentioned that “Goal setting” is mandatory for everyone to be successful in life. He said that made a list of priorities in life with the time to achieved it. Goal setting gave you the inspiration to act on your priorities & makes things happen in your life rather than waiting for the opportunities to land in your lap.
“We first make our habit & then our habits makes us”-John Dryden
In is his book he said that adopting good habit takes time & difficult but negative one is easy to adopt. So, a new good habit takes 21 days (no golden rule) to develop so be patience not easily die. And a person should concentrate on their strengths & talents to be more effective. If any one balanced these five things would be a well-known themselves: Time management, Creativity, Positive thinking, Physical well being & Spiritual satisfaction.
One of the most effective way to improve you personal & professional effectiveness & rise to a new level of Excellencies to find a men for to coach you. Cultivating great friendship is one of the ways to find more happiness & joy in life. He said that there is nothing in the world more valuable than friendship. “Find three great friends”
By concluding my learning by his two great views:
1) Humility: “The tree that has the most fruit is the tree that bends to the ground.” Means great person never shows arrogance in life.
2) To maintain a healthy level of optimism & passion for life, you must keep on setting higher & higher goals.
Robin Sharma is one of the world's leading experts on leadership and personal development.
